An avalanche in Pakistan buried up 150 Pakistani soldiers in eighty feet of snow. At least thirty soldiers died in the avalanche. The Siachen region is claimed by both Pakistan and India and have thousands of soldiers stationed on the mountain. Usually avalanches don't reach the army base. India and Pakistan have fought two wars over the freezing area in the past sixty years. I think that the two countries need to cease fire and make sure their soldiers are at least safe from more avalanches. I think there's no need for the soldiers to die in an avalanche.
This is really dumb on both countries parts. First of all why would you have wars on a mountain coverd in snow when you know that your gunshots could set off avalanches which could take out your whole army and leave you both unprotected. India and Pakistan need to just make a peace treaty or at least move their fighting to solid ground.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why they wouldn't just move the fighting to a new area if they are really that determined to keep warring. Wouldn't the generals of the armies realize that losing their soldiers would mean an increased chance of losing the battle? The safety of the soldiers should be their number one concern, even from a military standpoint!
